About the Speaker
Dr. Alia Hadid is an Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the TESOL/Bilingual Education program (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages/Bilingual Education) at Rhode Island College.
Her research interests include the experiences of language learners and the relationship between language learning and cultural identity. She aligns her work with research that aims to bridge the gap between teachers and learners and to amplify underrepresented voices.
Dr. Hadid is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments for all students, with a focus on equity in education and attention to cultural and linguistic diversity. She believes that true learning happens when students feel valued and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives.
